The darkest time of the year is here. Take care of your own safety and that of your loved ones. Help others in traffic detect your movements.<\/p>\n

According to the Finnish Road Safety Council, a driver using high beam headlights can see a pedestrian on a dark road without a reflector at about 150 metres, depending on their clothing and the car’s lights. A pedestrian wearing a reflector or reflective vest can be seen from more than 600 metres. In a collision situation, a motorist driving with low beam lights will only see a person without a reflector from about 50 metres away, while a pedestrian’s reflector can be seen from as far away as 350 metres.<\/p>\n
