Happy Choose Work in Finland Day!

Today, December 5, Tammer Brands is celebrating the national Choose Work in Finland Day — together for domestic employment.

What does “Choose Work in Finland” mean for Tammer Brands?

Tammer Brands’ roots date back to 1954, when Aulis Mäenpää founded Tammer-Tukku. Since then, for over 70 years, as a family business, we have been at the heart of Finnish work. Over the decades, Tammer Brands has grown and developed its business, creating work and jobs in Finland.

By participating in Choose Work in Finland Day, we want to do our part to highlight the importance of Finnish work in our operations. Tammer Brands employs a large number of skilled professionals in Finland in sales, procurement, purchasing, marketing, customer service, IT, logistics, and administration. Around 100 Tammer Brands employees work at our head office in Tampere, and our logistics center in Hämeenlinna also employs around 100 professionals in the field. In addition, Tammer Brands employees work throughout Finland and abroad.

In-house work, i.e. work carried out within the company by its own employees—not outsourced—is the backbone of Tammer Brands’ operations. By doing the work ourselves, we ensure better quality, reliability, quick response times, and customer-oriented operations in all situations, in line with our values. By doing so, we better understand the needs and everyday lives of our customers and consumers, supporting both our own and our customers’ success. When work is done in-house, we create jobs within our domestic family business, Tammer Brands, instead of outsourcing. When we occasionally need outside help and special expertise, we utilize reliable and long-term partnerships with experts in various fields—employing Finnish workers outside the walls of Tammer Brands as well. An example of this is our close cooperation with trusted photographers and a staffing agency in Tampere.

Our customers as promoters of Finnish work

The impact of Finnish work is not limited to our own employees. We offer a wide, constantly evolving range of brands and products to our retailers throughout Finland, from Utsjoki to Hanko. This enables them to succeed in the consumer goods market. At Tammer Brands, customer relationships mean partnership. When our customers succeed, Finnish work succeeds too, and this has an impact on the entire local economy and Finland’s vitality.

The significance of Tammer Brands’ partnership for Finnish work

Our product portfolio is not limited to our own brands, as we also actively work with our partner brands. We offer our domestic partner brands a distribution network covering the whole of Northern Europe, enabling rapid distribution and visibility for their products and helping our partners achieve success.

Key Flag and Design From Finland products as part of Tammer Brands’ selection

Although our operations utilize a global procurement network, Tammer Brands’ product portfolios also include several Design from Finland and Key Flag certified products. These labels signify Finnish workmanship, Finnish design, and Finnish manufacturing.

Most importantly, both symbols communicate that the products are made by Finnish hands, employing Finnish people. The symbols communicate the origin of our products and tell customers that their choice supports domestic jobs and the vitality of our society.

Tammer Brands – choose to work in Finland

Tammer Brands operates an important role in the domestic work ecosystem: we create jobs, support and help both our retailer customers and partner brands to succeed.

Choose Work in Finland Day gives us a great chance to thank our customers and partners. By working with Tammer Brands, you enable us to continue providing Finnish work and services.

What is Choose Work in Finland Day?

The Finnish Work Association organizes Choose Work in Finland Day, which is celebrated annually on December 5. The aim of the day is to remind us to make thoughtful, responsible consumption and service choices that support Finnish work, domestic companies, and Finland’s economy and well-being.

The goal is to emphasize that small choices—such as buying domestic products and services—have a multiple impact on preserving and creating jobs in Finland.
